Exceedingly, Abundantly, Above....

Ephesians 3 gives praise to the God who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ask or think. And we are living that, right now!

The first day Judy Allison and I walked through what would become the Silent Blessings office suite here in Anderson, IN, we saw all kinds of new spaces that were ideally suited to the kinds of work we do every day.

Then we walked through the steel doors at the back of the office suite and entered a huge climate-controlled space with very high ceilings. I saw a perfect place to develop our own video studio: A place where we could tape Dr. Wonder’s Bible stories, object lessons, and sign songs ourselves, thus saving professional studio rental.

But we’d have to do it right. We’d need professional lighting, a new high definition camera, and some carpentry and electrical work. Plus, we’d want to incorporate some special technology to make it easier for Deaf kids to perform with the rhythm of the songs. Even with volunteer labor, the improvements would cost at least $15,000.

But the rent was inexpensive. We could
rent the new studio space, plus the new offi ces, and all the storage we needed for about the same amount we were paying in Indianapolis for office space alone! And a one-time investment now would probably save us over $25,000 in video production costs over the next two years. It seemed like an idea worth exploring.

So we made our proposal to the family foundation that has been so generous with funding the Dr. Wonder project, and within weeks we had received their positive response. All I can say is, “Praise the Lord!” It’s just another indication that God wants this project to move forward in spite of hard economic times. Let’s not give up. Let’s go forward together as God directs—for His glory!
