Last week our Executive Director, Marshall Lawrence, had the unique opportunity to speak at the weekly chapel service for our neighbors across the street, Anderson University. He was able to challenge this amazing group of young people with the need for people with many unique talents to help reach Deaf individuals and their famililes for Jesus.
Following the service, students filled out volunteer forms saying they'd like to help in one way or another, and others came up and shared how they had no idea that this mission field was one they could reach right form their own college campus.
This week we are hosting an open house to encourage the student body to see what Silent Blessings does, now that they have had a chance to hear about it. We hope that they will learn that they can help us by volunteering to help man the phones, make posters, operate the video cameras, etc. We're excited about the prospects of channeling this wonderful volunteer force for use in Deaf ministry and about meeting these kids face to face. If you're in the neighborhood, feel free to stop in yourself! |
